Ortho-ease grip
I have tried contoured grips, which are hand-specific and can only be used in one orientation in the hand, and "normal" cane grips, which curve around the cane "pipe"and put all the pressure of leaning on the cane in a single line on the top of the cylindrical grip, causing carpal tunnel problems in the users hand. This flat grip avoids the carpal tunnel problems by spreading out the pressure over the whole hand surface, can be used at any orientation of the hand on the grip, and can even be used in the wrong hand, (which is not recommended for any but short times in unusual circumstances for safety reasons.) I was ecstatic to discover a source of canes with this grip, as I have been recommending this grip to every person I see with a cane for years, but have never been able to tell them where to buy one. Before I found my cane with this grip, I was wrapping my cylindrical cane handle with bubble wrap in an effort to avoid the pain of the single line of pressure down my hand. NO pain with this grip for the last ten years!
